A Journey from Darkness to Dawn
My name is Sahar, and in Persian, my name means ‘dawn.’ I was born at dawn and throughout my life, I’ve come to learn that dawn signifies renewal, enlightenment, and new beginnings. Yet, like the darkest part of the night before the light of a new day, I’ve faced seasons of life where I felt broken, lost, and without purpose—breathing air but feeling like I had no reason to exist.
But just as dawn breaks into light, I found a deeper purpose. My life was redefined, much like the art of kintsugi—the Japanese practice of mending broken pottery with gold. I saw my brokenness as a series of pieces being put back together into something beautiful, whole, and meaningful. This foundation is part of that healing process, a testament to my faith, and a reflection of the profound words of Yeshua: ‘If you love me, feed my lambs' (John 21;15). It is through this love and calling that I’ve been inspired to serve and protect vulnerable children, whose cries and stories have always broken my heart into pieces.
This mission also reflects the promise of Proverbs 4:18: ‘The path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day.’ This light that I’ve found is not about me, but about the source of the Light that gives me strength, purpose, and hope. My prayer is that as we walk this journey together, you will see that Light shining through and be inspired to join in, not for me, but for the children who need us and the hope we can create together.”
This foundation reflects my renewed purpose: to uplift the most vulnerable.
The Reality:
Every year, an estimated 1.2 million children worldwide are trafficked, according to the United Nations. In the Philippines alone, around 60,000–100,000 children are trafficked annually, forced into unspeakable situations such as sexual exploitation, forced labour, and even organ trafficking.
These are not just numbers; these are children—innocent lives stolen by one of the world’s most inhumane industries in the world.
In some of the poorest areas, children are lured or forced into trafficking rings by promises of a better life or sold due to extreme poverty. The Philippines has become one of the largest sources of online sexual exploitation of children, a growing industry fueled by global demand. Vulnerable children often have no access to education, safety, or even their basic rights, leaving them trapped in a cycle of exploitation and despair.
