What I Actually Use: My Founder’s Favourites This Spring
I started Asian Skincare Toronto to bring together the kind of products I couldn’t find anywhere else — clean, rare, beautifully designed, and effective. As we head into spring, I wanted to share the products I truly use in my own home and routine. These aren’t just bestsellers — they’re personal favourites.
1. REISE Rice Oil Leave-In Conditioner
The easiest hair product I’ve ever used — and one I never skip. On days I don’t use conditioner in the shower, I apply this right after towel drying and it keeps my hair soft, shiny, and smooth. It doubles as a lightweight hair oil too, and it’s completely rice-based, just like the rest of REISE’s incredible line.
2. House of Dohwa Rice Bran Sunscreen
If there’s one sunscreen I recommend, this is it. It’s moisturizing without feeling like sunscreen, leaves zero white cast, and feels like a light day cream. I use this every day, and it works beautifully under makeup too.
3. EMME NYC Yuzu Hand Wash + Reed Diffuser
Yuzu is one of my favourite scents, and I use both the hand wash and diffuser at home in multiple rooms. The hand wash smells like real citrus — not synthetic — and the diffuser looks beautiful and gives off just the right amount of scent.
4. Mount Lai Vitality Qi LED Gua Sha Massager
This is my go-to tool for tension relief and self-care. It combines red LED light, heat, and sonic vibration with the sculpting benefits of Gua Sha — and I genuinely look forward to using it. It’s waterproof too, so I can incorporate it into my skincare or scalp rituals with ease.
5. Mount Lai The Purple Balm
This balm melts beautifully into the skin and is especially soothing when my skin is reactive. It’s deeply nourishing without being heavy, and I always keep it close when I need calm, moisture, and protection.
6. Mount Lai Vitamin C & E Brightening Berry Oil
This is a powerhouse oil that works beautifully under sunscreen or makeup. It gives a natural glow and helps even tone and texture over time. Plus, the texture is lightweight and absorbs beautifully, even on sensitive skin.
7. EMME NYC Candles (especially Ube & Pandan)
These are the scents of comfort. I rotate between Ube, Pandan, and sometimes Matcha depending on my mood. They burn cleanly and fill the room without overwhelming it. If you like cozy, dessert-inspired scents, these are for you.
Each One Is Chosen With Intention
Every product I carry is something I believe in — but these are the ones I come back to again and again. If you’re looking for a place to start, let this be your guide. I hope you love them as much as I do.
